Spent the majority of Saturday making the backyard look like it was full of plants put there on purpose instead of just rampant wild growth. We ended up with 17 bags of leaves and trimmings, and stopped there only because we simultaneously ran out of bags and energy. No more Krynoid/Triffid invasion site for us! In addition, we got rid of an old dead birch tree that termites had set up shop in, put some new plants in the ground, painted the garage doors, and installed a light kit in the back porch ceiling fan. Whew!
But the big big event was the Rocky Horror show, starring our very own John as Frank N. Furter. It was a very good time and everyone did a really good job. All day Saturday while working in the yard I kept singing “Eddie’s Teddy”. Man, I have a lot of memories attributed to the movie, not all good, not all bad, but all significant. I was surprised at how many of the lyrics I still knew by heart.
But enough about my nostalgia. The cast did a good job and clearly had a good time. I don’t know how you could screw that show up, though…there’s no way to do it too over the top, and a toned-down, serious take on it might be more funny.
Kudos to the Exit Seven Players!
