As foretold by prophecy, I am now part of the Xbox community!

The console itself arrived on Friday, but without the games and accessories I had ordered, making it sit on the floor and taunt me. On Saturday, though, we went out shopping and I went ahead and picked up Fallout: New Vegas and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean. The former kept me happy until yesterday, when the rest of my loot arrived. Red Dead Redemption! Beautiful Katamari! A second controller! Points! After trying to decipher what the second controller’s intructions was telling me to do to activate it (Dan: Is it telling you to put it up your ass? Me: No, that I could probably figure out.) Becky and I did some Lego Pirating (this was a coincidence and not related to yesterday being Punch a Nerd In the Throat Day).

In addition, Dan stopped by earlier this week and loaned me a pile of games. So I am currently spoiled for choice with things to try out. It’s glorious!

This weekend I’m hoping to dive in and just try a bunch of things out. I’m also hoping to do my first multi-player game with some friends of mine (they say you haven’t really played a video game until you’ve shot Ken Lowery in the face).

It’s pretty exciting for me, if a bit overwhelming as well. I’ll keep you all updated on my journey into next-gen console gaming!
