Advertising Memories

Apropos of nothing, a sampling of pervasive local ads from when I was a kid.

“Put this man to work. This man is a skilled siding installer who doesn’t work much during the off-season.”

“Rosenberg’s, Rosenberg’s. 1825! Tulane.”

“Seafood City, very pretty.”

“Hurry up wit’ dem sammidges, Rosemary!”

“This is the Chairman for Universal Furniture.”

“Exit-Louisa-Street-off-I-10”

“Love that chicken!”

And, to come full circle:

“Call now and get a ‘Fight the Uglies’ t-shirt from Oscar!”

Also: “Welcome to the mystical land of Anything Goes!”
