Speaking of New Technology

Remember the last time we bought a TV? Probably not, since you have no reason to. Well, only five and a bit scant years later, we’re replacing it.

It’s been gradually giving up the ghost, so we figured it was time to leap into last decade and get one of them flat panel thingers. Last night we got an HDTV with a resolution of 1090 pixels. It was supposed to be 1080 pixels but the guy threw in an extra 10 for only $20 more!

And the screen size? Hang on to your hats, folks.

Yep, they really do make TVs that big!

Here is what it looks like:

And here it is displaying our favorite show, Balloons:

I’m looking forward to hooking up the PS2 to it and seeing if that will rekindle my interest in the game console. I’ve barely touched it in ages and have a nice pile of games I bought and did nothing with. I’m also eager to hook the Mackboop up to it and see how that works.

And not a moment too soon, since we’re coming up on Doctor Who season…

Just a quick note on the PS2, you may want to make sure you are hooking it up with component cables or better. Otherwise the image is going to look pretty rough.

I hate to break it to you, Dave, but mine is 5 inches bigger than yours.

I love Balloons, but only the original UK version.
