“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

After seeing this stupid quote attributed to Albert Einstein yet again, I decided to try to set the matter straight on Twitter.

me: note: Albert Einstein did not say that stupid “definition of insanity” quote. So quit claiming he did.

me: (It was actually said by Kurt Vonnegut in his famous “wear sunscreen” graduation speech)

Sure enough, a few minutes later:

guy1: @daveexmachina your irony of the day: Vonnegut never gave that speech, neither http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wear_Sunscreen

guy2: except that wasn’t actually Vonnegut :p @daveexmachina It was actually said by Kurt Vonnegut in his famous “wear sunscreen” grad speech

Well, that won’t do. So I clarified and corrected:

me: Folks, I *know* Vonnegut didn’t do that sunscreen speech. That would be where the joke IS.

me: The “definition of insanity” quote is ACTUALLY from Robert Heinlein’s book, ‘Foundation’.

And people tell me they don’t see the point in Twitter!
