The past few weeks have seen people everywhere, including nerds, making fun of Sex and the City 2 for its shallow plot, gross misogyny, and appeal to materialism. Join me now in going through Previews, where only thoughtful material that respects women and is carefully considered before purchase may be found!
Let’s start out with Hellboy: Masks and Monsters (p. 45). This is a collection that includes two superhero team-ups and, honestly, I can’t say I much care about either of them. As dumb as it sounds, my main question here is: is this thing numbered as part of the other Hellboy trades? If so, I’ll get it. If not, I can pass.
Showcase Presents: Legion of Super-Heroes vol 4 (p. 100) is a MUST.
How do we know IDW’s adaptation of the Star Trek movie is way past its sell-date? Because I have seen the movie.
Image Comics’ Nancy in Hell is not at all what I was hoping for.
No Jack Staff this month. Has the motor run down again so soon?

War is Boring (p. 300), in which a war correspondent tells us how it is, sounds really interesting.
I’ve been meaning to get the trades for Oni’s Wasteland, and the Apocalyptic Edition, vol 2 (p. 304) is probably what I should grab instead of the single volumes. (And I need to get volume one as well.)
Now there’s Android Karenina. Boy, this certainly hasn’t gotten old.
Well you’re not taking your shirt off around me, nerd.
Oh hey, check this out!
“This is not your traditional fairy tale girl. This Red Riding Hood is updated for the modern age. Whether going out on the town at night or bringing her grandmother some medicine, this is not a girl any wolf would think about causing trouble with.” Finally, a sexy, edgy version of Little Red Riding Hood!
So I guess it IS a PVC figure?
Here’s a shirt for people who are very concerned about how Twilight promotes poor role-models for women.
Finally, there’s this shit:
