I Say This is the Geekiest Thing Ever But Honestly It’s Not Even in My Top Ten

I was recently reminded of a conversation I had several years ago.

*ring ring*

Dave: Hey Chris.

Chris: What’s up?

D: I’m doing possibly the geekiest thing ever. I’m re-installing Windows on my computer, so while I’m waiting for it, I’m having a contest with my dice.

C: Your dice?

D: Yeah, all those d20s I got at the game convention.

C: What kind of contest?

D: I roll them all and remove whichever rolls the lowest. Last die standing is the winner.

C: That doesn’t seem overly geeky.

D: For purposes of the competition, I’ve given them all names.

Left to Right: Blooper, Brick, Anti-Die-ablo, Die-ablo, Radar, Peewee, Tarmac, GI Joe, Sherbert, Mentos, Cyberdie.

(note: “Die-ablo” won.)

  1. I was rooting for Sherbert….

  2. Maxo says:

I think I’m going to do this before every gaming session. Want to go cold, dice? You’re off the roster!

  3. Mrs. Mancer says:

On a slow-blogging day, you should share that top 10 list with the world…

  4. Brady says:

Die-ablo always wins. He’s the Prince of the Earth and whatnot.

In boring RPG sessions, I regularly roll all my dice, putting aside the ones that yielded the highest possible result, noting how many rolls it takes to get the highest value on all the dice.
