I Have Failed You, Written Language

Monthly reading for April? Nada. Well, nearly so, anyway. I got a few chapters into The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri and just stopped. Nothing wrong with the book, I just did not feel like reading anymore. Since then it’s been crosswords and comics before bed.

I don’t know what happened. I’ll try again later, I suppose.

Her short stories are amazing…I have not read The Namesake yet.

I suspect it’s the book. It’s not nearly as original and interesting as her short stories, and the symbolism of the name changes becomes heavy-handed.
