Free Comic Books on Saturday! No Foolin!

This coming Saturday, May 2, is the happiest day on the comic book calendar (after the day when Jack Staff finally ships another issue): Free Comic Book Day!

Comics companies will be providing comics to just be given out to anyone who stops by a shop! For free! Selection may differ from store to store, and some stores (like my store, Modern Myths) get so caught up in the hoopla that they give away all kinds of other stuff too! (Please don’t ask if everything in the store is free. They have heard this joke a million times.) You can see this year’s official offerings here!

I always enjoy the Bongo comics offering; I don’t care about the Clone Wars, but but Kit Fisto!; ATOMIC ROBO; Comics Festival is usually a good time; and there’s Love and Rockets!

To find a participating comic store near you, go to the FCBD site and use their locator (on the left, scroll down a little, and yes, that should be front and center.)

Don’t miss out on this exciting day!

I’m taking my nephews age 5 and 7, as well as my 2 older daughters, 3 1/2 and just-5, to go get the Owly comic.
