Check it out! Our new table is finally here!

This is a long time coming. We first looked at a for serious dining room table a few years ago, figured out what we liked, and then…did nothing. Finally, the day after Christmas last year we went out and ordered a new one from Bond Dinettes in Connecticut.

(I’m not going to go into a lot of detail here. Our experience with Bond is decidedly mixed. Making the purchase was fine. The finished product is great. In-between is a Faustian nightmare born, I hope, of mere incompetence rather than outright deviousness. This is a company that has a very nice product, and just needs a lot of instructions on dealing with customers, especially customers who have already given them not a small amount of money and would simply like to know what up with the thing they bought.)

But that is behind us now. The table is beautiful, seems well-made, and is our first piece of “real” furniture. We finally have six chairs that all match and aren’t falling apart! And we can easily and comfortably seat eight people at it, so everyone come over for dinner this Sunday!

Nice! I can’t wait to try it out when we’re in your ‘hood in July. I’m looking forward to that seven course meal you promised us.

Whoa! Ok, you’re right. It IS fabulous. It’s way more gorgeous, even, than you described in person. No wonder Bex is seriously glaoting in that photo. Ok, maybe this summer you’ll help me refinish my own pitifully inadequate & water-stained mahogany dining room table?

  3. Matt says:

Nice looking lego work station you’ve got there!

  4. Jeff says:

Man, if Beebo gets up on that thing, that’s his ass. Love the table!

  5. Blasterhappy says:

The caption for the pic with Becky should be “and you better use a coaster damn it or I’ll kick your prissy little ASS!”

  6. Dan says:

    Sooooooooooooooooooo…

What are we having on Sunday?

  7. Mrs. Mancer says:

    Dan–how about pancakes?

Yes, local friends and visitors–As soon as my final spring semester grades are submitted, we will be eating lots of good food, and playing lots of games, around this here table.
