When we last left Beebo, his liver enzymes were sky-high, indicating probable major liver damage. On Friday he went back to his regular vet and had some blood work done. The results came back yesterday and those enzymes were back to normal. The vet himself said that he had never seen levels that high come down so fast before.
So it appears that the nausea was related to the liver issue. Some fool thing he ate caused a reaction that set his insides afire. Thankfully, it’s passed.
He’s not completely out of the woods, though. His calcium levels are still high, which could indicate a type of cancer. However, since at the moment he’s behaving completely normal and not in any signs of distress, we’re just going to hold off and keep an eye on him. As I said before, he’s thirteen or fourteen years old, so this sort of thing is not unexpected. As long as he’s doing well, we’re not going to mess with him.
We’d like to thank the folks who asked about him and wished us well when he was sick. He’s doing fine at the moment, peacefully snoozing and completely oblivious to the fact that he’s about to get flipped over and have his tummy rubbed.
