Sold! Sold! Sold!

This round of eBaying is now over with. I threw a bunch of old toys on the auction block and now they’re (mostly) gone, off hopefully to people who will also appreciate them.

The Gundams finally went, as well as some Action Fleet vehicles and a 12″ electronic talking Boba Fett, (who says all three of his actual lines but doesn’t scream like a little girl).

I tried the Huge Lot of Action Figures twice with no takers. I wasn’t surprised, as I didn’t think there was much chance of them selling that way. I eventually divided them up into lots — 27 lots, to be exact — and they all finished last night.

Final total for it all? $772.50. Only three of the action figure lots didn’t sell, so that actually puts me a little lower than I wanted to be, but hey, it’s mostly gone.

I really picked a lousy time to be doing this. In addition to the economy being in the tank at the moment, the market for these “collectibles” is pretty oversaturated. A LOT of people are dumping collections, and it’s a buyer’s market. So I’m actually pretty lucky to have done as well as I did.

The remaining three action figure lots and some other stuff I’m planning on eBaying will get boxed up and put aside. I’ll hold off doing more until the market seems a little less full.

As for my money, well, I’d like to say it’s going towards fun things, but it’s more likely heading toward paying for some plumbing repairs we had done a few weeks ago and maybe a new driveway. I won’t say I didn’t want the cash, but really the main thing I was looking to do was unload some stuff.

Oh, and for the record, I should say that I had almost NO typical eBay obnoxiousness to deal with (yet, knock wood). So far everything has been a piece of cake, and for that I am super thankful.

Curses! Well, congrats on your windfall nonetheless. Who knew that driveways could be paved with Star Wars figurines?

When I saw Threepio and the Escape Pod I thought to myself Oh No Dave is selling the TARDIS! He has really gone off the Deep End! I’ll let Dave explain…

  5. Dave says:

No, no, the TARDIS was the gun turret from the Hoth Set! And I still have it!

I thought it was the Escape Pod from Land of The Jawas Playset. My mistake but it was a long time ago. HAHA!
