Palin (far left) with other Republican women
McCain has chosen his veep, and holy cow, he’s a she! Maybe he believed all those idiot Clinton supporters who said they’d vote for him instead of Obama. It’s an odd choice, because everyone who Palin appeals to won’t vote for her because this is a man’s job and she should be at home cooking. Still, the choice does go a long way towards showing that it’s not just rich white men the GOP loves, they also dig on rich white women. Now, I don’t know for sure that Palin is rich, but this sentence from a news article about her gives me a lot of evidence:
Tell me those names were picked by anyone who wasn’t white and rich. Although I admit, I’d vote for her if she kept one of those names and changed the others to Stats, Calc, DiffEq, and sweet little Linear Algebra.
As for the responsibilities she’ll have is elected, well let’s hear about them in her own words:
As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I’m used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration.
Seriously and honestly, this confirms all my suspicions. The GOP is running to lose. They throw McCain a bone, set this person up as a “rising star”, and happily lose the election, knowing they’re throwing a ton of crap into Obama’s lap and will eagerly condemn him for it for the next four years, even though it’s all fallout from the abysmal Bush terms. Tell me that is a less probable scenario than this campaign actually being for real. You can’t.
Now I have to go. I have to drive Bristol to his private school so he can try to get the United States out their model UN.
UPDATE: I am now wondering if, instead of being a gesture to disappointed Hillary Clinton supporters, Palin is a gesture to disappointed Harriet Miers supporters.
