George Carlin, 1937-2008

Man, ever since I saw him in a comedy special on HBO I was a fan of Carlin’s. He was hilarious, and I loved the way he could go from lowbrow drug humor to witty thoughts on language in no time at all.

Here he is talking about flamethrowers. (NSFW LANGUAGE)

He got more cranky than funny in his later years but hell, who can blame him?

He was one of the classics, and it sucks for him to be gone.

“Baseball and Football” is my favorite of his routines. I hope George is “safe at home.”

One of my all time favorite comedians. My favorite routines were “A Place for my Stuff” and “People I Can Do Without”. All of his comedy was great. He will be sadly missed.

  3. My first exposure to Carlin was that same HBO special. I loved the egg white joke, and the baseball/football was good, but I really liked his jokes about cats, and the phrase Mongolian Cluster-F$@k is still one of my favorite phrases to this day. He did get downright bitter and unpleasant later, but he was very funny during that HBO special time.

I agree that Carlin was one of the greats. He will be missed.
