Stratos K-30 Sky Car

In the distant retro-future, the Stratos K-30 is the Sky Car of choice for young hipsters!

This was a try at building using the SNOT (Studs Not On Top) technique. The wings are built with the pieces at a 90° angle to “normal”, which gives me a nice flat studless surface and lets me take advantage of the various slope pieces to get some curve to the saucer.

I knew white would be the “main” color but I wasn’t sure what to use for the secondary one. I really wanted to use green, but I just don’t have enough of the right green pieces to do so. Blue gave me what I needed and even let me work the old “Classic Space” logo into the mix.

One of the Lego sites is having a “retro-futuristic” contest that I may enter this into.

Wow… I love this. If this were a for-real kit, I’d honestly buy it in a heartbeat.

Man, I’m jealous of you people who can make anything out of Lego. I had a hard enough time just making the stuff I had directions for!
