Picture Pages, Picture Pages

I finally settled on Plogger for my image gallery software of choice. There are a million and five different packages to do this, and I admit that I kind of ran out of patience to try them all, but Plogger was the first that did most of what I wanted and none of what I didn’t. I liked its streamlined nature; it wasn’t trying to be too f*bleep*ing clever, as Gordon Ramsay might say. I wish it had tags, but c’est la vie.

I still have some work to do setting up stuff the way I want it, but for now, feel free to tool around in it and leave comments. Here are some locations of interest.

Main Site, where it all begins.

Scrapbook, where our adventures are chronicled.

Gallery, where photos of note live.

Legos, where you can see works in progress.

The former Scrapbook hadn’t been updated in some time; that has now been rectified! So go look!

Speaking of Legos, they finally have an MMO coming out that Dave can get on-board with: http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/02/lego-universe-l.html

Great photo updates, Dave. I even included the one from your Video Game Halloween Party on my site.

I have to admire the open source DIY vibe on Plogger, but what about ordering hard copies from your photo database? Too retro?

  3. Dave says:

Do people do that? Order hardcopies, I mean. Why?

I’m going to hijack your post here, Dave, and suggest that some people (not really me) enjoy looking at physical photo prints for the same reasons that you prefer stovetop popcorn to microwave, or playing boardgames to Call of Duty.

Film cameras, music on vinyl, mechanical watches, HD-DVD… the retro list goes on and on. How about it, readers?

I don’t know, there is still something about flipping through a photo album every once in a while.
