Man, a lot of my buddies have had exciting things happen to them lately! Check this out!
In December, Al was featured in the Daily Hampshire Gazette for getting a new job. The article is subscription-only, but here’s the meat of it:
A Holyoke man is poised to be the city’s first executive director of Northampton Community Television, in charge of studio operations and public-access television programming from the high school beginning in January. P. Al Williams, 33, currently station manager of Longmeadow Community Television where he has worked for nearly a decade, was chosen for the post by a five-member board of directors Friday.
Then you got Dan, who became part of CSI: Springfield a couple weeks ago. On Day Two of his new position, he got his picture in the papers when some guy took shots at police serving him a warrant and the police shot back.

And now there’s April, getting into the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, which is excited about her moving to Seattle!
April Middeljans moved from Illinois to Seattle last August because that’s where she got a job. “The job market for English professors is pretty tight,” said Middeljans, who is now an assistant professor at Seattle Pacific University.
I also have friends who aren’t making the papers but are still having cool stuff happen to them.
Anna sold her first story to the podcast Speculative Fiction magazine, Escape Pod! We knew our faith in her abilities would pay off!
And my friend and manager John is abandoning me for a new position as a professional copywriter. This is something he’s been trying at for some time and although he’ll be missed at work, I’m glad to see his patience finally pay off.
Anthony and Cecilia will also be missed. Both got swanky University jobs in Kansas City and are setting sail in June.
There’s also Jure, who successfully defended his dissertation and is now a Doctor of Musical Arts! Missy got closer to that point, passing her comprehensive exams! Matthew passed his first black belt test! Mike and Nancy are having another baby!
And me? I’ve just been reading comics. I’m a slack-ass.
Congratulations to everyone!

Well, we can’t all be famous, can we? I commend you on the achievement of slack, and look forward to perhaps joining you for some primo New England style slacking in the very near future…
In any case, you have persisted impressively in your blogging efforts, which is more than some of us can say!
